Hey there! I am Jason Sands and live near Magnolia, Arkansas. My birthday is August 12, 1979, so however old that makes me when you read this. I was born in Magnolia Hospital at 2:36 A.M. Many people told me I would never make it to 18, but I somehow made it this far. If you do not like my grammar on this page, then excuse me, as I did not put much thought into it. It is just a personal web page! I got an e-mail telling me I am conceited because my website is all about me, so to let you know, this is www.jhsands.com not www.everybodyelseintheworld.com. :)
My personality: I am completely honest and will tell you the truth, because the truth is the best way to go. Lies catch up with you ["A little lie is like a little pregnancy, it doesn't take long before everybody knows." - C.S. Lewis]. Another reason for that thinking: You tell me the truth, I tell you the truth. Let us get this straight... I do not play hard to get and I also do not play the hard to get game.
Quoting several of my friends that are ladies, so you will not think that I am conceited: Those ladies say I am very funny and when I am around there is never a dull moment and I am very sweet and compassionate. Other times, as in when people gossip about me, I ignore it and do not care what is said or who said it. There are a lot more other things to worry about than gossip, especially around here. Those ladies say I go out of my way to solve their problems, make them happy, and make sure everything is okie dokie, that my smile and eyes make them melt like butter. Do not think I have a huge ego because of what they say; it is their sayings and not mine. I am just a compassionate, sweet, and truthful Momma's boy. More bluntly, if I like you then I will do everything I can to make sure you are happy. If you do not like me, I will not lose any sleep over it, I promise. I will try to find out what is wrong and why you do not like me, but I will not lose sleep over it. I do not play games and if you play high school games you are out the door immediately. We are adults; let us treat each other as ones.
My pet peeve is someone who tells me to call and is 'busy' or 'cannot talk'. My #2 pet peeve is someone that tells me they will call and does not. You will get blacklisted quickly. :) The #3 pet peeve are people that smoke. Yah to Arkansas for the smoking ban in businesses!
I am a momma's boy at heart. ***I love my Mother and Father VERY, VERY MUCH.*** Yes, I also love my brother! I am very compassionate and will do whatever it takes to make people smile and be happy. With my niece comes new responsibilities...I have to teach Kendall the right things of doing and not doing, liking and not liking, and such things. Kendall was born in October 2002. There are pictures around if you want to see them, just send an e-mail.
There are ever increasing things going on in my world. The addition of a new crib has me busy running around like two chickens with their heads' cutoff. lawl. Cleaning has gotten much easier since the new crib is highly sealed and also has some of those fancy HEPA filters. Laundry has gotten a lot easier with those Shout ColorCatcher sheets. Throw everything in the wash, plus a Shout ColorGuard, and you are ready to go!
Employment: I am employed by several different companies. I was grocery manager for Kroger 646 for over a year, and am currently fire chief at Mt. Vernon VFD (for six years), PC tech for 300 computers and 11 locations, network administrator of a thirty (30) computer domain, adjunct instructor for the Arkansas Fire Academy, and adjunct instructor for the Arkansas Forestry Commission. I also have other jobs but that is enough for you to know for now.
I am A+ and Network+ certified. MCSE is really pretty simple when you have been working with NT5.x for three years. I have to sit down and reread those books... not much of what I want to read. Books I love to read are those of helpful value. That can include anything from history, do-it-yourself, religious, and philosophical. Oh... I love the History series channels, Animal Planet, Discovery series channels, TLC, and some others. My main variety comes from Dish Network channels: 119-121 and 182-207. Sad that I have every movie package available and do not watch it but like once a month. lawl.
Education: I graduated from SAU with a BBA-Management and minor in criminal justice. I am currently working on an Associate of Fire Science degree through SAU Tech and a Master’s of Divinity from Baptist Missionary Theological Seminary to go along with the BBA. Dr. Otey's statistics say that only 23% of the people that start SAU graduate there and 6% graduate elsewhere... so I was 1 of 4 that graduates! You just cannot explain the feeling you have when you hold your diploma...
Who likes fire? I do! It is a great adrenaline rush and no fire is ever the same. Loving fire has brought me to the position of Fire Chief at Mt. Vernon Vol. Fire Department. The fire department serves nearly 550 people. Huge, is it not? We have a total of 13 registered firefighters and 4 trucks. Our primary truck is a 1984 GMC C70 with 1000 GPM FMC pump and a 1000 gallon steel tank. It has official pump tests at 400 GPM. It needs some carburetor and seal work done on it to go back to 1000, plus it is a single stage and a Bean. :\ The engine is a bored over 400 and it does not like 87 octane. FMC truck was purchased from Caddo Parish Fire District #1. Truck #2 is a 1988 GMC C70 with a 750 gallon Wilson tank and a 18HP Twin I/C Briggs and Stratton with a 350GPM Hale pump. The B&S has been hopped up a little bit by Magnolia Tractor Inc. Truck #3 is a 1970 AMG M35A2 6x6 with a 600 gallon stainless steel tank and a 12HP Briggs and Stratton with a Hale pump. It will pump out close to 250GPM. We use truck #3 as our main brush truck. A 3500 gallon tanker truck was purchased in April 2007 from Old Union Fire Department. Mt. Vernon Fire Department has Class A foam and equipment on all 3 trucks and has Class B foam on truck #1. I have obtained IFSAC Instructor I and IFSAC Officer I, the only IFSAC registered instructor and/or officer in the county.
If you are interested in being on the fire department, e-mail me. If you are part of a big corporation and would like to donate money to the department, feel free to call my house at 3 A.M.. :) If you would like to make a tax deductible donation, mail it to the following: Mt. Vernon VFD, %donations, 771 Hwy 344, Waldo, AR 71770. Please include a note on whether or not you need a receipt for your donation.
Things you should not expect me to do [because I won’t]: drink, smoke, weed, get high, go to parties, go to bars, et cetera, and so on.
What I drive: a 2003 "Bronzemist Metallic" Chevy Impala. If you do not like it, do not buy one. :) Pics available.
Relationships are composed of giving and taking. You have to give some and I have to give some. It takes effort to make a relationship work, so in effect; the previous statement is somewhat untrue. In a relationship I will endeavor to give and take to make it work. You have to be willing to make that commitment, also. The forefront of a relationship is trusting in God and letting God lead you in your relationship, not take it in your own hands, to put the relationship at God's feet and let him guide it. I do not believe in the "American marriage." I believe that marriage is until death do us part! If you do not like me, then you should not have married me! You cannot make people change once they get old enough to marry; they are who they are and if you do not like that, they are not for you. Check this.
Let me know if I left anything out, but I am pretty sure I covered everything.
